UP IN SMOKE...

A lot of you probably don't even remember it's been so long ago but...eleven years ago rappers Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Proof and many others put together the "Up in Smoke Tour." It made its stop in Detroit, Michigan on July 6, 2000 at the Joe Louis Arena and that's where a problem began that's just coming back up in 2011... SMH!

One of their acts featured a video of naked women and a bloody shootout. Police commander, at the time Gary Brown thought the video was inappropriate and DID NOT want it to be played at the concert. He expressed his concerns to the promoters of the tour in a meeting (on what he thought was off cameras) about the video saying, "it should probably X rated." Later down the line the statement Brown made ended up on a DVD for the tour.

Gary Brown filed a lawsuit under the Michigan eavesdropping statute that states you can't secretly record a person. He states there was an agreement that nothing would be recorded. However, the attorney for the rappers states that there were visible cameras in the meeting room and no agreement was ever established.

Well now the case has gone to the Michigan Supreme Court. To me this is the most ridiculous thing I've heard in quite some time. I honestly think this is an attempt by Mr. Brown to make a few quick bucks. Whether there were visible cameras in the room or not, I won't believe for one second that Mr. Brown asked for the conversation to not be recorded. This is just one big waste of time and money!!!!! Arguments begin Wenesday...I can't wait to see the outcome of this foolery!
